[UK-CONTEST] QRS corral

I read the comments on the QRS corral with interest. From my perspective I have been licenced over 31 years but been very much a VHF operator with very little interest in HF or CW. Since moving to Bristol in 2000 I've been doing a lot more HF and just in the last couple of months I've had the inexplicable urge to get going on CW! At home I use a simple station and simple low wire antennas and have no intention of changing that in the short term. I've been using these contests as tasters to try to charge my interest in the mode. 90 minutes is a nice length contest to get some experience without doing the brain in completely. I therefore welcome the concept of the QRS corral and indeed had a couple of spells in it CQing myself. I was very pleased to work G3K** along with the dozen or so other stations (including LY) that were happy to call and work me at my relatively slow speed. Thanks to you all. They like me were happy to participate rather than worry about 40wpm number crunching. I'm enjoying this little set of contests. It allows small stations to participate and help their club scores. I hope a few others out there will echo these views as well.
