There was a JA5 on 40m SSB who was s9+20dB, he was using a Kaydubya to a 
4 el yagi.

Well, you should have done what ES1A did and stay in the same freq 
regardless. I monitored him for his first 5 QSOs. Another secret to 
success I discovered was to have a very wide t7 signal, certainly 
attracts a lot of attention.

Everything heard on IIY's FT990 which doesn't bode well since he might 
use it for SO2R or M2, against me!
