A good move Don, well done! Now go one step further, abolish
the committees altogether, and appoint a contest manager to
have total responsibility for all contest matters, and free
to appoint a "coaching" team ( not elected), the manager to
be answerable to the community via the board on (say) a two
to three year term.

Democracy is crucial at the top level, but autocracy
produces better results at the lower levels. Only problem
would be, who'd be daft enough to want to do the job!
