In may AR 'career' which incidentally now spans over 40 years, I have
been to and been part of several AR Clubs/Societies - call them what you
will, across quite a bit of England.
In that time I can only recall one club who played in contests and still
do. None of them had the facilities to put on a big Station, so you have
to rely on individuals. In fact at the last club nobody, apart from two
individuals, was even interested in any form of contesting, be it HF or
VHF, and I know that even when it was suggested that the members made an
effort in the CC bashes the response was a resounding burst of silence
[apart from those who asked if they could use repeaters]

If they cannot get out of their chairs to represent their club - what
chance their Country.
