[UK-CONTEST] Eu Sprint - Apology

That exemplifies the "market forces" point I think. If the
SPs want to restrict QSOs in the way they do, then clearly
activity will be less than it otherwise would be. That is
their choice, and if they suffer QRM from another event,
they could modify their behaviour.

The Sprint is going to have to move over because Vlad and
Fritz decided it was their patch, again so be it. Perhaps we
should not try so hard to be politically correct and
acknowledge that the market is always efficient, sometimes
cruel but always efficient! I was growing up in the halcyon
days of the 1950s, and often wish it were "yesterday once
more" as Karen Carpenter once sang, but it just ain't so :-(

Clive,

We need to be careful with calendars.... I think the first
full weekend of
April would be the SP DX contest (SSB / CW) which might some
problems on
most years. This year, because April 1 was a Sunday, SP DX
was on 8 / 9
April, and so itself was then coincident with the Yuri
Gagarin contest.
When I operated the SP activity was losing... A similar
trend! Maybe the
moral of the story is to enter the contests popular with
Russians, but then
we're being dragged along by those market forces against our
will.

Today's Sprint was a struggle for sure. And I missed the
JA's too !
