Unfortunately (or perhaps not), democracy isn't about allowing the
population to vote on every decision, it's about allowing to
population to choose who makes decisions on their behalf. These chosen
people make decisions based on their own opinions, and on opinions
they hear expressed.

If the opinion of the 'handful of extremists' is the only one being
heard, it's only a matter of time before their opionion influences
decisions.

Assuming the selection of letters printed in RadCom is representative
of those received, we can and should do something about redressing the
balance.
