[UK-CONTEST] Contesting + support

It seems to me that perhaps rather than another contest to be added to the calendar, the addition of a new section to each of the contests in the calendar (RSGB that is) would be the way forward...?
My rational behind this is that it seems all the contests that we enter are categorised by power and station type, whereas if newcomers are to be encouraged, a Rookie category or even Apprentice category would be a better way to go, ie instead of power, skill level, would be the category.
Perhaps the Club Calls and Sprints would be the place for this sections in particular ?
Say a Club entering the contest with its usual call, but run by one or more M3's / M6's, with a watchful eye / encouragement being given by a seasoned operator. In particular I see this section being the most basic and simple type of section, just concentrating on operating skills / mic awareness / contest exchange, no Cluster Connectivity, S&P, no "Big Knob , Little Knob" techniques etc etc.
Too be honest, I think an additional section like this simplified section, should be introduced to all contests, as it not only levels the playing fields allowing stations to compete on a like for like basis, but would signal that ANY can station can win, in its category. I know some of you will say this is dumbing down the skill, but adding a time limit of 2 or 3 years then the station "has" to move up a level, will maintain the skill level, indeed should develop it.
My own introduction to contesting was in 1981 with the Liverpool Club (L&D ARS - G3AHD) at the tender age of 16....didn't bother with a licence as I did enough operating in the R.Signals and FCO, but thats another story.

WPX has a Rookie category. See: http://www.cqwpx.com/rules.htm
f) Rookie (ROOKIE)**: To enter this category you must have been licensed as
a radio amateur three (3) years or less on the date of the contest.
