Whilst we're still on this subject, has anyone bought the 18m version of
these..? I'd be interested in comments before taking the plunge...?

While others were busy thinking outside the box, I cut it up because I
needed some cardboard for a project I was making.

Thanks Callum, and to those who replied off list.
Most respondents used an adjacent fence post or somesuch for support,
but that option isn't available to me, so my preferred option is to sink
the aforementioned ( they are actually) stout tree-stakes , and drop the
poles over them. I think your idea of some external support at the
bottom to minimise stress is a good one.
Anyway thanks list for the bandwidth, and I hope others will also have
been helped.
