This depends on the wind conditions, my experience has been that unless 
they are properly supported to about 5-6 feet you do risk them folding over.
But that said you can repair them with a splint and a supply of tie wraps!
I have one element of the 4 square here which seemed quite susceptible 
to wind damage and I found that it was because when the wind blew it 
touched a branch of a tree - this didn't look very significant but it 
was enough to cause a problem.
