To add to what Chris has said, the 830 has an outstanding reputation in 
respect of the rx performance. Until recently at least, Fred/K3ZO was 
still using one in his contest station, and Fred doesn't use 
junk.Suspect you will be delighted with it. When you dispose of it give 
this boyo first refusal to support his own ( post) mid life crisis 
;-)    . See if you can get hold of a 930, which would also please ( I 
still have one acquired in 1984). Trouble with some of these is that the 
solder on the PCB goes manky ( technical term!) and causes corrosion. 
Also if the regulator in the PSU goes u/s the rail floats to about 50v 
which produces interesting results!
