[UK-CONTEST] OT: Doublet size

Thanks Peter (G3LET) and David (G3YYD) for replies.

I've decided to make the doublet with an overall length of 300 foot. It is only intended as a fill-in antenna for relatively local traffic, although like Don it may be too high at 80ft agl. - open wire feeder of course. 

I've also spend some time resurrecting my old 160M folded quarter wave vertical. Made from 300ohm slotted feeder, shorted at the far end and fed at the base via hardline back into the shack. 
95ft vertical - the rest horizontal with single wire extension to provide resonance. Only got 20 x 1/4wl radials but have bonded hundreds of yards of wire fencing all around the qth and up the fields back to the central earthing ring.  I may get round to building a matching network for 80M operation but no enthusiasm for that at the moment. 

Hope to be on Sunday - only single op - there are no radio clubs anymore in Herefordshire!
