I very much hope I'm not one of the ops referred to in the post (there
is no suggestion that I am and I don't believe I was). I am one of
those whose first FD this was and was very much observed in my
operating as I started (having watched/listened at the beginning), and
put right as I went along.
Sorry to any that got 5x 5x, xxx, xxx, IO80ST IO80ST - someone spotted
that Sat evening and put me straight to give 5x xxx, 5x xxx, IO80ST
IO80ST.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a lot that will be of value in UKAC
etc.
I endorse John's comments about beginners (being one) and HF ops.
However, we were normally working as a pair and I certainly was, with
an experienced op who could put me straight and often heard what I
could not (just how long does it take to develop white noise filters
in ones head?).
