My story of AFS:

I forgot it was on, as my local club don't enter contests or do anything on HF come to that.

But, given the wx, I decided to have a couple of hours in the shack and give away some points.  I arrived in the chair just after 2pm and found a quiet frequency.  I then recalled that I had taken down the 80m dipole before Christmas (to make it in to a 160m dipole ready for CQ160) and the 80m 65' vertical was resting on the deck.  No wonder the frequency was quiet.  So, I put the quarter wave vert up and was on the air by about 2:15pm.

Finished up running on the same frequency throughout and made 210 QSOs, before calling it a day. Being called by OX and OY in quick succession surprised me.  Bob 5B4AGN was extremely loud.
