Hello Ian

Sorry I didn't make it yesterday. Just staggered off the BERU contest at 
1000, in time to hear you close the net down.

I was trying a short vertical T for 80m in the contest, instead of the 
dipole, and it worked out very well indeed for DX, but your signal and 
Dave's were noticeably down as expected. I will keep it up with the 
temporary radials until after SSB WPX and see how it plays into Europe 
as well, and it may also be the answer for IOTA.

It's that "pencil monitor" attitude - thinking their job is to hoard the 
SCCs rather than give them out.

The right attitude would be to renew all existing SCCs that have been 
used in the past year, and give out all the rest based on any kind of 
recent contest activity.

IF they ever issue all 520, then - and only then - would be the time to 
start applying criteria... when they have the real-life experience to 
set some.
