  During the last Christmas period 50% of our mail was opened, I would
  assume just on the off chance that something was included with the
  card. All ours were VERY deliberately opened by being slit along the
  top of the envelope.

  My last envelope from my QSL manager arrived completely empty.
  Obviously anything with any thickness to it appears to be a good
  target. Fortunately the digest has made it through unmolested, so far.
