A good evening for us at G3PYE/P as well. After a decidedly "meh"
performance by myself (at home as M0VFC) in the 70cm AFS on Sunday, last
night was a very welcome change.

The puddles at our /P site had mostly dried out, but there remained one
particularly muddy area - which, naturally, the coax managed to drag its
way through along almost its entire length. I remain confused by how the
PSU (and laptop, speaker mounted 6' up the van wall, and clock) got
similarly coated.

We spent a little while beaming towards Europe to try and pick up some
good distance QSOs, and DG1KJG duly obliged for a little over 500km, but
sadly we missed DF9IC.

A pretty reasonable number of mults came easily to the north, including
IO94 - and is it me, or is IO93 getting much more popular than it used
to be? Thanks to all who operated from there! However, the south coast
was lacking: no JO00, IO90, IO80 or IO70, I think. GM4JR and GM0USI
filled in IO85 and IO75, but we missed a few of the other GM's that I
think were around.

Dom, M0BLF joined us in Flossie for his first serious 70cm contest, and
was I think pleasantly surprised by the number of contacts that can be
made on the band - thanks to him for helping out at short notice!

All in all, good fun!

73,
Rob, M0VFC @ G3PYE/P
