last week I transmitted first time ever on 160m, (during the RSGB contest),
I do not think I've even listened on 160m for 20+ years and have no
knowledge of contest operations on this band.
To get a signal out of this small garden location I added a loading coil to
my 30m longwire at 6m and managed to work 11 stations. Best dx 550km.
I know the antenna not very efficient and was very noisy. Thought I might
try to improve it for this coming weekend. It will be manually tuned and if
I decide that the tuner moves to the bottom of the garden, and hopefully
the bandwidth is reasonably narrow, then I need to decide where in the band
to tune it. Any advice would be appreciated.
regards
peter
