If only these folks would also come on for more of the 24hr contests, Roger.
Have done the 2m trophy each year since 1995, usually from GM. It really is disheartening when we see people working similar numbers in UKAC to what we now expect to work in 24hrs. Unless there's decent tropo cndx to DL/ON/PA/F, the incentive to assemble a competitive station /P is just not there, and year on year, our group comments that SSB Field Day would be the better option for the following year.

Well, what can I say..arrived at the contest site to find that I'd left a
critical piece of the antenna at home, so I abandoned the contest team on
top of the hill and hared home to collect it.. unfortunately this left us
starting 39 minutes late, on what turned out to be a great evening - in the
end, 101 contacts and 17 mults. My best guess is that the lost 45 mins would
have turned up a couple more mults and 30 or more contacts.
Bother!
On a positive note, it's pleasing to see that the RSGB V/UHF activity
contest series continues to draw crowds of folks out on a Tuesday evening.
