John,
That is rather unkind, old chap, or even mildly insulting! The 'poll' asked 
two simple questions, requiring no interpretation whatsoever. So, my own 
stance on the issue was irrelevant: I merely counted and reported the 
'votes'. Without comment. The fact that the result was not to your liking 
should not lead you to shoot the messenger. It may interest you to know that 
over several decades I was a Business Analyst - I know where to draw the 
lines in order to preclude bias.

This is a situation where no solution would please all of the people all of 
the time: a Marmite case but with a majority whose opinion then prevailed. I 
assure you that I had absolutely no input about this 'poll' from the 
reflector moderators - before, during or after: it was merely my own 
initiative, trying to be helpful.

Anyway, it's hardly the end of the world: subscribing to both reflectors is 
not onerous! Let's all now get back to meaningful contesting issues.

That's unfortunate, I'm happy about the move to Yahoo but unhappy about
splitting the groups, I think the moderators have given in to the
voluble minority on both sides leaving us, the silent majority, to have
to cope with two groups.  I was particularly unhappy about the recent
poll on this and I now, regret not having made my feelings clear
earlier.  This poll was conducted by a someone with opinions very much
on one side and it appears the moderators have gone along with it.  I
suspect those of us interested in both HF and VHF will now have to put
up with at least 50% more emails, putting HF or VHF at the start of the
subject would have been a much better solution
