Personally I put all this at RSGB's door. In name only there is one CC
but in fact the website is split comprehensively into separate HF and
VHF compartments, with entirely different layouts, facilities and
rules. This shouts out loud that there are two mutually incompatible
communities at large. If this is ever tidied up (not holding my breath)
a single group would become more appropriate.
But also see how they do things in the US via contesting.com, where
there's been a separate VHF list for over 10 years . . .
As it is, joining both of the new groups and filtering the emails on
receipt leaves me able to read (or ignore!) either group in the same
window and so the separation at source shouldn't disadvantage anyone.
Quite why they had to involve yahoo is another matter altogether. I'm
impatiently waiting the 2 weeks when they say I shall have to sign in
again, to see if the emails just dry up or what . . .
