For whatever reason the message below did not get "out", so reposted for
your perusal gents!
Can I add......instead of reinventing the rules. Why not simply add a new
additional class "EU" for those who want to work predominantly EU......allow
them EU squares as multis but NO UK squares as multis, but still get the
kms? Then they, like me in AX, can relax amongst my own whilst allowing
others to do what they want. AO, AR, AL, AX and EU (or AU).
I've heard the discussions regarding not further sub dividing but believe
this one could work and encourage more people to partake and those who
disliked the M5 rule to return and work in a new class.

For the first time in years we see an increase in people taking part from
the "nether regions" (That's the north and west folks) and more slowly
coming on as they see the activity is making it worth their time partaking.
So - "if it ain't broke" why tweak it and most likely break it?????
The proposed M6 will likely see a return to "let's work the EU", the people
in the north & west will see fewer contacts, lose interest and slowly
dwindle back to HF or Corrie and we're back to the pre M5 days again.
IARU 70cm Contest - 24 hours - less than 20 contacts, UKAC pre M5 - 15/20
contacts per session, UKAC post M5 50+ which, forgetting any KST/AX contacts
that's more than double the contacts.
Seems to be working fine and encouraging new blood - why change it?

When something isn't broken, don't try to fix it!
Create a multiplier out of UK squares and overseas countries?
It just doesn't seem logical to combine the two. Chalk + Cheese!!
However if the CC deems it necessary to tweak the rules, then hows about
using the sum of UK squares plus the sum of ALL countries worked.
