Along with a request to seriously consider rules changes to improve VHF
Contests, I also suggested that the Division Directors and
Vice-Directors consider taking measures
to increase the status of the VHF-UHF Century Club Award in the amateur
community.

This would including issuing pins again, and creating VUCC specific
merchandise for sale at the ARRL online store. T-Shirts, hats, patches,
etc.

The suggestion also included the creation of a Five Band VUCC Award.

Rules would be simple, to qualify you must achieve VUCC on 5 Bands,
including at least one of the low bands of 6 Meters, 2 Meters, or 222.
Satellite would also count as a "band" for the purposes of
this award.

Start date could be now, essentially resetting everyone to "ZERO" and
spurring lots of activity to be the first to win the new award. Those
achieving the award would get a nice certificate, a pin, and if they
want to pay extra, a nice plaque.
