[VHFcontesting] Attenuation from polarity mismatch (Re: C6AFP Six Meter Beacon

The coupling between orthogonal polarizations is theoretically zero
(infinite negative dB). Any coupling has to do with errors in the
orthogonality. Reflections can introduce some polarization shift
which will reduce depth of the null. Antenna tilt is often used to
mitigate against the null and a 45 degree difference will result in 3
dB (half power) coupling loss. On six meters, the tropospheric and E
layer (meteors) will result in very little polarization rotation
which is a different situation than most HF propagation which passes
through more ionized regions before returning to the surface.

Hope this helps.
