To Vince, K6BIR:

Windows seems to choose the "My Documents" folder as the default save,
so as already suggested, that might be where your logs are getting
saved.  Here's a way to find out, though.  Go ahead and save the file
after notepad has opened.  Write down the name you gave the file and
then go to the "Start" button in the main Windows interface.  Hit it,
then highlight "Find" - that should open another window...highlight and
click "Files or Folders."  Type in the name you gave the file and append
it with ".*"  (dot asterick, without the quote marks, so it would like
like N0LZ.* for example).  Hit find, and in short order the computer
should find the file.  Once found, click on the name with the right
mouse button, select properties (from the bottom of the new window) and
it will give you the full path for that file, telling you where Windows
is hiding your file.
