[WriteLog] File backup-good news

Some good news for those who are concerned at potential back up
problems.

I run WL as an everyday logging programme, when I don't need the
additional bells and whistles in Logic5. What I did was enter
two additional dummy QSOs on the end of the file, and then just
pulled the switch without exiting WL or Windows in an orderly
fashion.

I was surprised and delighted on power up, when I was advised
that there appeared to be an unsaved journal file, and did I
want it appended ( or words to that effect). I answered yes, and
lo and behold the dummy calls were added back to the log.

It appears therefore that WL is making a virtually continuous
backup of the ( unsaved)log even between manual or autosaves,
and is proof even against power outages or some idiot hitting
the big switch at the shack door ( you mean you *never* did
this, oh my!). I therefore now have increased confidence in
increasing my autosave increment until I can update the abacus,
erm I mean computer.

Kudos to the authors, this should be trumpeted in the
documentation imo.

Hey wait a minute, what if my HDD was invaded by byte eating
aliens from the planet Quark, how could I protect against that
eventuality. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean it couldn't
happen, they're out there you know!
