If I opened the telnet window again to connect to a new telnet, then I had two telnet window open, one still minimized, and so on and so forth. At one time I had k3lr.com, ve7cc.net and dxc.k1ea.com all minimized at the taskbar at the bottom of my screen.

I use the VE7CC "cluster user" front-end:
http://www.ve7cc.net
It has a built-in list of clusters you can reach via Telnet. If the
connection crashes, then just have VE7CC re-connect (or connect to a
new node). The connection between WriteLog and the VE7CC program will
NEVER go down.
