OK, that tells me that PTT is via the separate cable. Now,
please tell me exactly what the connections are in that
cable.
What controls that cable? Is it connected to a serial port
or is it connected to a USB port on the computer side? What
port number?
Where does it connect on the rig? What are the pin assignments
in the cable?
Does that cable carry the rig control data?

That's a fairly clear indication that WriteLog is using the TX1;
command (or TX;) for general PTT. Which means it is not selecting
the correct audio input (ACC jack) for AFSK.

Are you using rig control in the stand-alone MMTTY (assigning a port
for "Radio Command" - Option | Setup | Tx |Radio Command)? If so
what does the TX box say?
Given that MMTTY standalone works properly and MMTTY works properly
in Logger32, I would expect they are using TX2; for AFSK. However,
that is only an assumption based on behavior of the Kenwood 480,
590 and 2000.
What radio have you selected (Rig Type) in WriteLog's Port Set-up?
Are you using Kenwood, Kenwood TS-2000 or Kenwood TS-850?
