Audio issue on writelog remote

trial one:   Writelog screen setup for SO2R
50 watts, CW, worked well - volume low at control site, successfully logged
CW contacts remote.
Rig is using the lower entry window.   The rig on the upper entry window is
off during this event.

Purchased "Remote PC" to adjust computer volume controls.

Trial two:  The rig using the top entry window is on, the rig on bottom
entry window is off.
At remote, connection fine - can operate RTTY (or WSJT using remote PC) but
can't hear audio at control computer (No CW)
Using remote PC, before starting Remote writelog, have brought up RTTY
screens at Rig computer and those work fine at control site.
Can adjust volumes of two USB cards by using Remote PC, as hoped.

At rig computer:
The internal sound is disabled in BIOS
Two external USB sound cards, one per rig.

Writelog control screen shows the speaker on the disabled internal desktop
sound as input to control site.... zero audio.
anyone seen this?   any ideas on how to get external USB sound to appear on
the writelog remote control screen?
