[Yaesu] RE: Yaesu Digest, Vol 19, Issue 12

Hi to all,
This comment is for Marty, WO0Q and anyone dealing with the FT 1000D
headphone issue, after having gone through several pairs of headphones
myself, I have found the Yaesu YF-77 to be the best solution as far as good
sound goes and I tend to overlook the low level hum at minimum AF gain,
since I typically never use the radio at such low levels of AF gain
anyway... So eventhough the hum is still present, it mostly remains more an
"academic" rather than actual problem.
Another pair of headphones that comes very close in terms of audio response
and can eliminate the hum completely with adjustment of its internal (in
line ) volume control, is a 16 Ohm model from AIWA which I bought from Radio
Shack sometime ago, but I do not have their model # with me now. If
interested, I can look it up when at home and email you....

73,
Marinos, ki4gin
