A few comments to clear up confusion on the manufacturing status of 3-500Z &
3-500ZG tubes. As generally known by now, Eimac no longer produces glass
transmitting tubes.

TRITON purchased the manufacturing equipment, drawings, materials, and
technology from EIMAC for the production of the glass transmitting and
industrial tubes. Also, Eimac does not handle warranty claims for glass tubes
still under warranty. These claims will be serviced by TRITON. TRITON acquired
the former ITT Electron Technology Divison in Easton, PA. I understand that
the plant is certified to Mil production standards. TRITON's trained work
force is mostly personnel with 20 years of experience in manufacturing of
elecron tubes.

TRITON is expected to start deliveries of 3-500Z, 3-1000Z, 4-400C, and 4-1000A,
& 4PR1000A, tubes to selected distributors and OEM's before May 1. Initally,
this will be done to fulfill EIMAC backorders transferred to TRITON in the deal.

Svetlana does not manufacture 3-500Z or 3-500G/ZG in Russia. I have seen a few
CHINESE tubes with the "Made in Russia" stamp on them. One assumes this was
done in error by local warehouse types while silk screening p/n & logo, etc.

Some talk has been made over production of a 600W dissipation tube using a
larger metal plate (Svetlana 3-600Z). This is still in the thinking stages, as
no production is scheduled at this time. Obtaining additional emission without
increasing filament current is still the limitation on power. However,
Graphite tubes (3-500ZG) can be considered as having 600W plates. (This may
help those tired of blistering metal plate tubes.) Other than dissipation, the
"ZG" tubes have same tube characteristics as the standard "Z" version.
