The tube would cause the fuse to blow instantly. I don't know whether
it was a hard short or gas; I sent the tube to Ameritron and after they
examined it, they replaced it under warranty. The replacement tube
functioned fine for the rest of the time I owned the amp. I sold it
about a year later.
