The only 8-pin connector on the FT-1000 series radios is the
band data and it's a DIN8/262. The other connectors are
Packet => DIN 5, DVS2 => DIN7, RTTY => DIN4, CAT => DIN6
One reason Yaesu may have chosen the DIN8/262 for the band data
jack is to prevent accidentally plugging the DVS-2 into that
jack.
