Bill. Shame on you sir.

I can't believe a technically minded person could ever say such a thing.

You should be saying the exact opposite. We need a hundred more Jims
in all fields of our hobby. We need eccentrics. We need people who
are prepared to go to the edge and fall off a few times. We need
people who want to try new things.

They are the doers. They are the ones who create advances in technology.

No advances in science have ever been made by people who didn't go
out on a limb. Whether its racing cars, space travel or amateur radio
amplifiers, there's gotta be someone thinking of and trying bigger
and better things.

Your car does more than the speed limit. You don't necessarily drive
it that way but think of how safe it is. If nobody had ever wanted to
make cars go faster, then we would not have the handling, braking
ability and the tyres that we have in our cars today. They are much
safer because of eccentrics like Jim wanted to push the envelope and
go one better.

I hope and trust that nobody gets nailed to the wall.

73, Alek.
