Well, there IS a section in the FCC rules that
defines bandwidth. You'll find it in section 2 of
the FCC rules. They list an entire table of
bandwidth descriptions, the formulas, and the
emission types that fall under them.
I went a downloaded it from the FCC site and have
it at home.
You can tell the max bandwidth by looking at the
designator. SSBSC (SSB Supressed Carrier) is
noted as 2K7J3E which means 2.7 kHz bandwidth
J3E is the internationally recognized emmission
designator for SSB SC.
Suggest anyone interested find that. You will
will note specific details for bandwidth.
