It seems to me that if some folks spent as much time
MENTORING entry level Hams as they do BELITTLING them on
this reflector there might be enough HF Contest operators
around to get the (apparently) ever so precious line scores
back in QST.

Many seem to have a great memory for the old days... do any
of those who feel that endless cheap shots at new Hams are
appropriate have any memory of the now apparently defunct
"Amateur's Code". If not dig out a copy of the old League
printed publications you value so much and read it again.

Bashing the very people who you/we most need to upgrade so
they can join the HF Contesting ranks and help defend and
bolster the aspect of the hobby that you/we CLAIM to value
so much seems rather short sighted to say the least.

After 42 years as a licensed Amateur reading the missives on
this reflector can at times be down right depressing. No
wonder this is often viewed as a dying hobby/service.

Flame away since that is what many of you seem to do the
best.

Why does 2m SOTB Ham need to read QST?
To find out how to press the PTT button?
