The purpose of having DX windows etc... was so people with common interests
could find each other. These windows have served their purpose and IMO are no
longer needed. Just about anyone with a computer/internet can access the DX
Packcluster. If you are a SSTVer and want to find other
SSTVers just find a clear frequency, like everyone else and spot yourself
saying you are looking
contacts. Same could be said for QRP, DX and other interests. As far as nets...
my guess is 99% of
the time you can use the frequency you always use. But you need to have a plan
B during a contest weekend in case your normal frequency is in use. This
solution is just common sense. Technology
has made everything so easy. Remember the old days when you actually had to
find DX stations to work on your own AND figure out what their call was ? Plus,
Like KR2Q and others have said the 75 Meter DX window will be a moot point in
less that 30 days anyway.

I really get tired of some of these special interest people blaming contesters
for everything. Name me some other activity that gives you a chance to work
DXCC or WAS in one weekend or put a dent in your effort to work all the US
counties. Sure there is the QRM to deal with but if you just can't deal with it
you have alternatives. Go operate on the WARC bands. If these people had their
way the bands would be dead from lack of activity waiting for stations to show
up in their "special" windows...

CASE Closed...
