For the same reason that in a serial number contest, you hear the repeat
of 5NN just fine, and the fade/QRM reoccurs when the number is sent.
New rule proposal - double points for those COPYING the exchange of
anyone sending /QRP. We're the ones slowed down and have to suffer
through copying them :-)

And why is it, that the only part of their call that comes through in QRM
and QSB is the "/QRP"? It never fails.

Can I ask to stop using CALL/QRP or other arbitrarily modified call sign?
I strongly agree. I've worked a fair number of contests (and sometimes
chase DX) running 5w, but would never use QRP with my call. It's just
plain dumb.
