Right. I'm trustee for W6BX and KU6W, both of which get used exclusively for contests, including portable setups in different counties, grids, and states. I upload each log with a location file showing the right county, grid, and state.

For 7QP, W6GJB, W6JTI, and I have done multiple portable setups in different counties. We signed N7N, which Glen held for the two weekends. I used AD1C's utility to split the log into the individual counties, one ADIF for each, and Glen did the upload to LOTW (because he held the call).

One thing I find VERY disappointing is that most of the teams that do extensive mobile operations for state QSO parties fail to put their logs on LOTW, and fail to do what we did for 7QP.

Yes, he is responsible. I use W1VE and WR1ST from all the New England
states, and when I upload, the log is for a specific location.

HI Guys,

I just worked the WPXCW and ended up with 394 Qs on 40m. I just updating my
contacts into my master log program..

Here's my problem...

With WPX and many other contest, there is no exchange of location. So, I
have no idea where the station is located.

Example...

I worked KU1CW in the WPX. I uploaded my log to LOTW an I received a
confirmed qsl. Here are the details on LOTW record.

*Station* *Call Sign* WN4AFP *DXCC* UNITED STATES OF AMERICA *CQ Zone* 5
*ITU
Zone* 8 *Grid* EM84UU *State* South Carolina (SC) *County* GREENVILLE
*Worked
Station* *Worked* KU1CW *DXCC* UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (291) *State*
Kansas
(KS) *County* JOHNSON *Date/Time* 2017-05-27 21:11:56 *Mode* CW (CW)
*Band* 40M
*QSL* 2017-06-02 13:42:27
<https://lotw.arrl.org/lotwuser/qsodetail?qso=840175882>

I have just confirmed a QSO via LOTW with KU1CW located in Kansas and
Johnson county.

Did I really work Alex in Johnson county Kansas?

If I needed Kansas for WAS, I now have a QSL via LOTW for Kansas.

After looking at 3830scores, I learn that KU1CW callsign location was in
Virginia.

So my confirmed LOTW contact with Kansas is not valid. I can obtain a WAS
award from the ARRL without working Kansas. By the way, this station was
599+ on 40m during the day... doubtful it was Kansas.

Bottom line... If I'm trying to work all counties or any awards how can I
be confident that a contact is really valid for WAS and other awards. What's
the solution?

Is KU1CW responsible for informing LOTW that on May 27/28 he was really
operating from Virginia? I don't know where he was?

Anyone else experience this problem?
