Hi All
As I stated on this reflector earlier this week, the Jupiter is by far the
easiest transceiver to operate I have ever owned. For some one just getting
into HF operation this would be the way to go. I currently own the Omni VI
Plus, Jupiter, Argo 556, PM-2, PM-2B. I recently sold my Triton IV Digital.
The Omni VI Plus is a high performance rig and it costs twice as much as the
Jupiter.
I received my Jupiter from UPS at noon Monday. I quickly read the manual,
put the Jupiter in the operating position and waited for it to come up to
room temperature (UPS does not heat anything so the Jupiter was very cold)
and made my first contact. I then re-read the manual and put it away and
have not touched it since. I say this rig could be operated by the new to
HF ham with no problems. I will recommend the Jupiter to all that will
listen to me.
Yesterday I got the Jupiter hocked up to my Centaur Amplifier and will be on
the Ten-Tec Users Net Sunday at 2300Z. I also ordered the Alpha Delta
"Console DELTA-4C Coaxial Switch" and will be conducting A/B testing between
the Omni VI Plus and Jupiter.
I can not say enough about the Jupiter, I find it very good and very easy to
operate.
