It certainly is. In the last six months, I sent my Omni A with VFO and
my Omni V for repair. Each took a month, each came back to me with
problems out of the box, and each had to be returned for corrective
service. And each return trip also took a month (not including time in
transit). BTW, these were not "trashed" radios -- the original problems
were dial cords, alignment, and minor repairs.
