I was only repeating what I have read concerning weak signal work... It does
make sense to use the filter with the lowest insertion loss providing the
band is quiet enough...

Yes I do acknowledge that there is no one setting that is best in all
circimstances and I am quite pleased with the Orion's receiver... I do have
a pet peave list but have managed to find work-arounds for most of the
issues...
