The best way to test your house is to put the ham rig on a battery source and then pull the master breaker in the electric panel... Lotsa guys are going to be amazed at the improvement... Remember the CATV cable can leak RF also... Get an F-connector termination resistor and use it to cap the CATV where it enters the house, for a test...

Any other ham gear, scanners, portable phones, etc., that have battery backup can be leaking rf... Likewise laptop computers, and portable pacman games that every kid seems to have welded to his hands... Also, on 2 meters, I about went nuts trying to track down a random carrier that bothered my radio off and on for months, I tried pulling the master breaker on the electrical panel, etc., until one day I accidently knocked the pager off my belt and the battery flew off... Suddenly there was blessed silence...
