There are two facts.

1. Default Orion gain is higher that default gain of FT1000.

2. Orion has flat audio response, while FT1000 rolls off from 1 kHz,
   reaching more than -10 dB at 2.7 kHz. This is the trick used
   on many Yaesu and Kenwood radios to make them sound "quiet".
