Mark, KB4EXI (KB$EXI is really not your call is it?!!   :-);

The $4400. Yaesu FT-1000D has horrible CW clicks, as well as a few of
their $<$3000. models,
and they never released a fix. How long was that model made? See W8JI's
web page for mods on the NB & key clicks.
ALL rigs have faults. The $10,599. IC-7800 already has changes in PC
boards that are NOT field
changeable: they must be returned to WA state.
Have not heard if the new FTDX-9000 models from $5900. to $12K+ are
perfect.
