                AH YES .... OK.  I see I need to consider the other

                OK...  that makes sense.  Once again, there is more to
                it than just having a clean signal out.

Few DX-peditions want to offer PSK-31

                I am just now setting  up my station to do digital modes, so
                this is quite timely advice.  I think I will order the ARRL
                book on digital modes...  clearly there is way more to this
                than the local rabble let on - who say all need is a sound card,
                a cable, and some free software like HRD...

                I did not pay much attention to this when studying for the
                license exam because I did not think I would ever get into
                digital modes.   But, just as with learning CW, I am now
                attracted to the digital modes in order to be a
                fully informed operator.
