Rick, DJ0IP, makes excellent points.
The common ham tuners from the factories are Tee circuit here in USA, a
high pass type, so no help against harmonics of your signal or another
signal.
The link coupled types, Z match, etc. are band pass tuners. A good type
for the reasons Rick has mentioned. Avoiding a DC connection to your
antenna as the link tuner does, may save you from static discharge into
your input coil of the receiver, but it is still good practice to
completely disconnect your radios from antennas if you are not using
them, to proctect the station from sudden thunderstorms.
