I realize it isn't the same rig, but I had some set-up issues when I first
started using the SignaLink with my Paragon. I left the 705 mic plugged in
the front and used the audio-in and out jacks on the rear for the
SignaLink.
I left the mic gain as appropriate for my mic and adjusted the SignaLink
to
get ALC to come on, which turned out to be about 9-o'clock on both
controls.
The big trick was leaving the SignaLink on all the time. If I turned it
off
I got lots of RF in the audio, much as you describe, when using SSB. With
the SignaLink always powered...no issues at all and the combination works
well.
