Just an academic question.. how would one know if the pattern is 
distorted? I've given quite a lot of thought and experimentation to 
figuring a good way to measure HF antenna patterns as installed (for 
hams.. I know how to do it if I had hundreds of thousands of dollars.. 
RELEDOP, for one)

I leave to others the issue of "funk" and antennas. If your name is 
James Brown (not you, K9YC) and you feel good, then funk is not an 
issue.  Or if your CW sending is "on the one"?  (the guy across the hall 
in my college dorm was a huge Parliament fan)

Or perhaps you were thinking German for "funk"?
