Hi, Steve,

I'm the pres of a club that does several take downs every year for widows
of SK's. Disassembly is evidently the inverse of assembly, but the fellow
who put it together isn't around sometimes to ask.

We ran into this a couple of years back with a 2" x 20' mast on 4 sections
of 45G. After removing two sections, the mast absolutely would not go
through the face. We ended up using the gine pole pole on the 2nd section
and a rope attached low enough on the mast to extract the mast through the
top. We thought it would go through the face, two, but it will not. We
demonstrated this on the ground after we took the tower down.

This issue cost us an hour or so of trying to remove the 2nd section over
the top of the mast - nope, sorry, there's only 12' or so of gin-pole, the
mast had to come out first.

73 and I can't believe I can actually help you for once!

Mickey
