Why that height? At 20 meters is 100' a lot better than say 60'? I am talking

As others have said, there is no easy answer. Actually there are a
number of answers, all different, all correct, and no small amount
depending on what distances, on what bands you wish to work.
Different times of the day, the ionosphere will favor different angles
of radiation. It also changes with the seasons and sunspot cycles.
